MCP Server — TrackRadar Inside AI Assistants
TrackRadar now works as an MCP server, so an AI assistant can identify tracks for you without you leaving the conversation. Paste a SoundCloud or Instagram link in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and the assistant returns the tracklist with streaming and purchase links. It is listed in the official MCP Registry, and you sign in once with your existing TrackRadar account — your plan and quota apply unchanged.
Four tools are exposed: identifying tracks in a post, looking up a known track across platforms, listing your recent analyses, and fetching one full tracklist. Only the first counts toward your monthly analyses. Developers can call the same endpoint with an API key instead of signing in — the documentation has the details.

Public Mix Tracklists
Tracklists we identify from public SoundCloud mixes now get their own pages at /tracklists. Each page lists the tracks we could identify, with cover art and links to Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, and Discogs where a match exists. Only public mixes are included, we publish nothing that is not already public on SoundCloud, and any artist can have their set removed on request — the link is in the footer of every page.
SoundCloud Preview Without an Account
Paste a SoundCloud mix link on the homepage and you now see identified tracks before signing up. The preview reads the set description, timed comments, and tags. Audio fingerprinting still requires an account.
Chrome Companion Extension
A browser extension that reads SoundCloud comments directly in your browser while you are on the page. It scrolls the full comment thread and filters out conversational noise, so track IDs buried deep in a comment section get picked up.
YouTube Without Cookie Maintenance
YouTube analysis previously depended on a browser cookie that had to be refreshed manually every few months. It now falls back across player clients automatically, and recovers the description tracklist when audio is blocked entirely.
Radar Prompts on Tool Results
Results with a handful of tracks now offer to add the account to your Radar, so new posts from the same account reach you automatically. Radar is the one feature that reliably brings people back: users following at least one account return at roughly three times the rate of those following none.

Tracks From Video Text Overlays
Reels that show track names as on-screen text — one after another through the video — are now read frame by frame, deduplicated, and returned as separate tracks. This catches multi-track reels where the caption lists nothing.
Larger Uploads
The file upload limit went from 100MB to 300MB, so full-length mixes can be analysed directly instead of being split first.
Live Cockpit For Everyone
The live analysis view, which shows tracks appearing as they are identified rather than all at once at the end, is no longer gated.

More Reliable Long Mixes
SoundCloud fingerprint analysis moved from a streaming connection to polling. Hour-long mixes no longer fail when the connection drops partway through.
Fewer False Positives
Duplicate detection now tracks which audio segments matched, and documented misidentifications from third-party recognition services are filtered out.
April 2026
Radar Prompt After Instagram Analysis
Instagram results started offering the same Radar follow that SoundCloud results had, and transactional email was separated from marketing email so alerts are not caught by promotional filters.
March 2026
Beatport Integration
Every identified track now includes a direct Beatport search link alongside Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, and Discogs. Beatport is where professional DJs buy tracks in WAV/AIFF format with BPM and key metadata. TrackRadar now links to 5 output platforms for comprehensive cross-platform linking.
Universal Analysis
TrackRadar can now identify tracks from YouTube, TikTok, and Mixcloud URLs alongside Instagram and SoundCloud. We also added direct file upload support for MP3, WAV, FLAC, and ten additional audio formats. Paste a link from one of the supported platforms or drag a file from your computer.
Dual Recognition Modes
Two new analysis modes give you control over how identification runs. Fast parallel mode sends audio to all recognition services simultaneously for the quickest results. Cost-efficient sequential mode tries the cheapest service first and only escalates if needed, keeping costs low for high-volume users.

Open Beta
We removed the waitlist and opened TrackRadar to everyone. All features are now accessible without an invite code. If you were on the waitlist, thank you for your patience — you helped us build a more reliable product.
Shareable Result Pages
Every analysis now generates a permanent, shareable link with rich social previews. Share your identified tracks on Twitter, WhatsApp, Discord, or anywhere else — the preview card shows the track count and source automatically.
SoundCloud Feature Parity
SoundCloud analysis now matches every capability available for Instagram: full tracklist extraction, multi-platform linking, and playlist export. SoundCloud mixes are treated as first-class content.
Real-Time Analysis Progress
You can now see exactly what TrackRadar is doing while it analyses your content. Step-by-step progress updates stream to your screen in real time — no more staring at a spinner wondering if anything is happening.
Founding Annual Offer
We launched a $99/year founding member plan for early supporters, which locked in a discounted annual rate. TrackRadar has since moved to a credit model — a free tier (3 analyses every month) and credits at $4.99 for 10, one-time, with no subscription.
January 2026
Apple Music Integration
Identified tracks now link to Apple Music alongside Spotify, Bandcamp, and Discogs. If you use Apple Music as your primary streaming service, track results include a direct link to listen and save.
Discogs Marketplace Links
For vinyl collectors, every identified track now includes a link to search for it on the Discogs marketplace. Find pressings, check prices, and add to your wantlist directly from your results.
Magic Link Authentication
No more passwords. Sign in with just your email address — we send you a secure magic link that logs you in with one tap. Faster, simpler, and more secure.
Monthly Wrap
A new monthly summary in the style of Spotify Wrapped shows your discovery statistics: how many tracks you identified, your top genres, most-analysed DJs, and a shareable image you can post to your Stories.
December 2025
AI-Powered Vinyl Record Detection
TrackRadar can now read vinyl record labels from photos. Snap a picture of a record label and the vinyl identifier extracts the artist, track title, catalogue number, and label name. In our early spot-checks it handled most real-world photos correctly, from studio shots to dim record-shop snaps. This works for LPs, 12-inch singles, and 7-inch records.
Spotify Matching Overhaul
We rebuilt the track matching system to significantly reduce false positives. The previous version occasionally matched tracks with similar but incorrect titles. The new system uses a more sophisticated similarity algorithm that weighs artist names, track titles, and duration to find the correct match.
Faster Carousel Processing
Instagram carousel posts (multiple images in a single post) now process 60% faster. Each image in the carousel is analysed in parallel rather than sequentially, which means a 10-image carousel completes in roughly the same time as a single image.
Beta Program Infrastructure
We launched the beta program with invite codes, onboarding flows, and feedback collection. This gave us a controlled environment to test new features with real users before wider release.
November 2025
Bandcamp Integration
Identified tracks now link to Bandcamp alongside Spotify. This adds coverage for 40-60% more tracks, particularly from independent and underground artists who release exclusively on Bandcamp. For DJs who play music outside the mainstream, this is a significant improvement in discovery.
Full Mobile Conversion
Every page in TrackRadar has been optimised for mobile devices. The entire experience — from analysis to results to playlist export — works seamlessly on phones and tablets. Touch targets, scroll behaviour, and layout all adapt to smaller screens.
Third Audio Recognition Service
We added a third audio recognition service to the identification pipeline. When one service cannot find a match, the others often can. This redundancy significantly improves the overall identification rate, especially for tracks with poor audio quality or heavy effects.
Pre-Launch Waitlist and SEO Foundation
We deployed the waitlist system and published the first set of SEO landing pages for tools like Instagram Track ID and Song from Reel. This laid the groundwork for organic discovery.
October 2025
Analytics Dashboard
A new analytics section with six chart visualisations shows your discovery patterns over time: tracks identified per week, genre distribution, top DJs, platform breakdown, and discovery timeline. Data nerds, this one is for you.
Subscription System
We launched our first pricing tiers, with payment processing and usage tracking all handled automatically. Pricing has since been simplified: today TrackRadar offers a free tier (3 free analyses every month) and then credits — $4.99 for 10, one-time, with no subscription. Credits never expire and you're charged only when we find tracks.
DJ Monitoring
Follow your favourite DJs and get notified automatically when they post new content. TrackRadar monitors their Instagram and SoundCloud accounts using an adaptive polling system that checks more frequently for DJs who post often and less frequently for those who post rarely. Push notifications, email alerts, and in-app notifications are all supported.
Trending Track Detection
When multiple DJs you follow play the same track, TrackRadar flags it as trending. This surfaces tracks that are gaining momentum in the scene before they blow up, giving you an early signal on what is about to be everywhere.
September 2025
SoundCloud Mix Analysis
TrackRadar can now analyse SoundCloud mixes and extract full tracklists — in our experience most published tracklists parse correctly. This works by combining metadata parsing, audio fingerprinting, and text analysis of descriptions and comments. Support for 30+ genres means it works whether you are listening to a techno marathon or a jazz-house session.
Dual-Service Architecture
We deployed TrackRadar as two separate services: a web server handling the interface and API, and a dedicated worker service processing analysis jobs in the background. This separation means the site stays fast and responsive even when dozens of analyses are running simultaneously.
Mobile App
Native mobile apps for iOS and Android launched, built as a hybrid application that wraps the web experience in a native shell. This gives you push notifications, home screen access, and a native feel while keeping the experience consistent with the web version.
Performance Optimisations
A round of performance work brought page load times under one second. This included image optimisation (80-90% size reduction through format conversion), intelligent caching, and elimination of redundant data fetching through request batching.
August 2025
Production Infrastructure
We hardened the production environment with circuit breakers for external service resilience, rate limiting to prevent abuse, memory monitoring with automatic recovery, and connection pooling for database efficiency. These are invisible to users but critical for keeping the service reliable under load.
Background Job Queue
Analysis jobs now run in a dedicated background queue rather than blocking the web server. This means you can submit an analysis and continue browsing — you will be notified when results are ready. The queue system handles retries, prioritisation, and cleanup automatically.
July 2025
TrackRadar Launches
The first version of TrackRadar went live with Instagram post analysis and Spotify playlist export. Paste an Instagram URL, get a list of identified tracks, and export them to a Spotify playlist with one click. The core pipeline combined multiple audio recognition services to maximise identification accuracy.
Multi-Service Audio Recognition
From day one, TrackRadar used multiple audio recognition services rather than relying on just one. When one service misses a track, another often catches it. This redundancy is the foundation of TrackRadar's identification accuracy.
Database Integration
User accounts, analysis results, and track data are all stored in a managed cloud database with automatic backups and point-in-time recovery. Your discovery history is safe and always accessible.
